Why did I launch Mindful Mavericks? One word: children.
What keeps me up at night are children who are unsafe, abused, assaulted, abandoned, and lacking food, clothing, shelter, or education. I had been a Mindful Maverick for years donating to causes supporting children (especially those trafficked) and I wanted to be able to give on a larger scale. So I created Mindful Mavericks to hold me accountable on a bigger level.
True story: While I had been a business strategist behind-the-scenes for friends and colleagues for years, I hadn’t made it official. There was no website, no effort at letting people know I did this work, and no trace that Mindful Mavericks existed…until I watched the movie Lion.
Lion reminded me of the almost incomprehensible number of forgotten children. Children who need our love, attention and support. And after balling my eyes out for almost an hour straight after the film ended, my WHY was loud and clear: I could do more…I needed to do more…and Mindful Mavericks would allow me to do just that.
So GIVING became (and is!) the core value and foundation of Mindful Mavericks…so much so, I’ve baked it right into my business model.
And that’s why if you enroll in any Mindful Mavericks program, I will sponsor a child in need on your behalf (through ChildFund).
It starts with one drop that turns into a ripple.
My personal goal is to support 48 children this year between Mindful Mavericks and Mindful Mavericks Magazine and to double that number every year going forward. It’s exponential giving that can make a real impact. Together, we can do just that.
